What is FIRQ+?
FIRQ+ is the Ruídos Queer+ International Film Festival, a platform dedicated to promoting diversity , inclusion and LGBTQIAP+ expression through cinema and experimental cinematic art.
What is the target audience?
The target audience for FIRQ+ are people interested in queer film production, LGBTQIAP+ representation and the exploration of new forms of artistic expression through cinema.
What are the requirements for film registration?
The requirements for film submissions are that the works must be directed by LGBTQIAP+ people or that at least 50% of the team (including cast and production team) must be made up of members of the LGBTQIAP+ community. Furthermore, films must have subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese .
Where and when will it take place?
The festival will take place in São José dos Campos - SP , and is scheduled to take place on November 1st and 2nd, 2024 .
What will the film selection process be like?
The film selection process will be carried out by a specialized committee in each category, made up of three renowned curators specialized in queer cinema and experimental film production. They will use rigorous evaluation criteria considering originality, thematic relevance , technical excellence , emotional and social impact , experimentation and innovation .
What are the festival categories and what is the time limit for each category?
The festival categories are: documentary , music video , experimental and fiction . The time limit for each category is up to 20 minutes for documentary and fiction, up to 15 minutes for experimental and up to 10 minutes for music video.
Will there be a specific theme for works entered?
There is no specific theme for the works entered. The festival welcomes a wide range of themes and approaches that reflect the diversity and creativity of the LGBTQIAP+ community

Yes , there will be cost assistance for those selected. Details about the cost assistance will be announced after the selection of works, guaranteeing financial support for LGBTQIAP+ filmmakers selected to participate in the festival.
